  Tom Jacobs

  Attorney

  Mr. Jacobs was born and raised in Puyallup, Washington, and a graduate of Puyallup High School He graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane in 1971 and Gonzaga Law School in 1976. Tom and his wife Gaye moved back to his hometown of Puyallup shortly thereafter where he has been practicing law for more than 40 years. Tom is a former president of the greater Tacoma Christian Layman’s Outreach, which puts on the second-largest prayer breakfast in the country. He has been actively involved in community activities and charities and has served on numerous boards for many years. Tom is an Eagle member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is a former trustee of the Pierce County Bar Association and has been both Vice President and President-elect for the Greater Tacoma Christian layman’s Outreach, as well as a sponsor for the Pierce County Prayer Breakfast. Tom has also actively served his church as General Counsel for the Washington Pacific Church of the Nazarene for 25 years. He has successfully represented over 20,000 clients in personal injury cases, obtaining settlements, arbitration awards, and jury verdicts that exceed 20 million dollars. Tom and his wife of nearly 50 years love spending time outdoors in the great Pacific Northwest with their three grown children and nine grandchildren.

  Brian J. Hardtke, Esq.

  Attorney

  This shouldn’t be hard: Keep your word. Treat others with respect. Accept responsibility for your mistakes. If everyone did this, you wouldn’t need Brian. Unfortunately, you do. Whether it’s a car crash, a slip and fall, or a dog bite, injury victims turn to Brian because they know he will listen and do everything he can to make things right. Brian earned his law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, where he graduated first in his class. He also holds a Master of Arts in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governor’s University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Washington. But it all started in Puyallup, where Brian graduated from Emerald Ridge High School and Pierce College as a full-time Running Start participant. Brian takes pride in serving the community where he grew up. Prior to joining Jacobs & Jacobs, Brian built a career in law and public service, where he used his strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle some of our community’s toughest challenges. Now, he brings that same dedication to helping injury victims get the justice they deserve. When not in court, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Amber, his kids, Camryn and Adam, and his tri-color corgi named Frankie. Give us a call. We’ll take it from here.

  Jason Johnson

  Attorney

  Jason was raised in the Pacific Northwest. After completing his undergraduate studies in North Dakota, he joined the Army and served for 10 years as a Tank Officer, with four overseas deployments. During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor. Following his military career, Jason attended Gonzaga University School of Law and graduated in 2013. Afterward, Jason became licensed to practice law in both Washington and Idaho. He spent 11 years practicing in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area, where he focused on jury trial cases in criminal defense and personal injury. Jason has a passion for the courtroom and approaches every stage of a case with the anticipation of trial. He believes that aggressive litigation is the best way to achieve a positive resolution. In 2024, Jason made the decision to focus exclusively on helping the injured receive fair compensation. He joined Jacobs and Jacobs as their Senior Litigation Attorney, where he has since focused on effectively litigating and advocating for just outcomes for clients. Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and engaging in hobbies such as poker, golf, and sports. He is dedicated to growing within the community and helping those who have been injured.

  Leila Hale serves as Of Counsel at Jacobs and Jacobs Injury Law Group, bringing with her over two decades of legal expertise and a national reputation for excellence in personal injury law. She is licensed to practice in Nevada, Idaho, Illinois, Georgia, Kentucky, Iowa, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, and Washington, offering clients broad-based legal representation across multiple jurisdictions. Leila began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in English and a minor in Psychology, later earning her law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. Since becoming licensed in 2000, she has built a formidable career as an advocate for injured clients, founding her own successful firm, Hale Injury Law, in 2014. Her passion for personal injury law is deeply rooted in her family’s medical background, giving her a unique, empathetic perspective and a caregiver’s approach to her legal practice. Raised in a small town, Leila brings a grounded, client-first mindset that prioritizes education, empowerment, and access to justice for those unfamiliar with their legal rights. Throughout her career, Leila has secured numerous high-value settlements, earning membership in the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum – an honor reserved for attorneys who have won million and multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements.
