About Olya Pavlishina, LMFT
FounderI am known as a therapist who specializes working with teens and their families. My work with adolescents has been one of my main focuses for over 15 years. I love the challenge of connecting with teens, meeting them where they are and helping them and their parents to cope with the challenges they face. I am just as passionate working individually with women and men. People often come to me to find relief in the problem area of their life, whether it be depression, anxiety, trauma, or just feeling stuck and wanting a change. Helping people overcome traumatic experiences, especially sexual abuse trauma, has been a large focus of my practice in the last two years. It’s an honor to step into client’s most vulnerable life experiences and help them find hope and healing. What qualifies me to be your guide I am passionate about my work as a therapist. Much of my life is spent thinking, learning and praying about how people can connect on a deeper level, heal from their deepest problems, and live out their authentic purpose in life. My persistent curiosity about how to help people live more fulfilling lives has led me to earn a Master’s degree from George Fox University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a WA state licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LF00002109). I have attended numerous workshops and conferences and have been trained in EMDR therapy that I use frequently with my clients. EMDR has been clinically proven to help people resolve the emotional and physical impacts of disturbing life experiences. Most recently, I have begun the process of becoming a Retracing Sequence Method (RSM) certified practitioner. As described by RSM founder, RSM is a neuro-emotional technique that utilizes a Biblical perspective while applying a methodology of discovering, diffusing, and replacing neurological imbalances in order to resolve emotional stressors that are negatively impacting the soul-spirit-body system. Learn more about RSM here: www.rsmsoulspiritbody.com While all my schooling and training has been of great use, it is my clients who have been my best teachers. It’s my thousands of hours with clients (since 2000) that help me to continue to master my skills as a therapist and be effective with you. Above and beyond my education and years of clinical hours, I have a great deal of life I have experienced. I have been through some very difficult times. I know how it feels to be there, how it feels to work through struggles, and how great it feels to move beyond an issue! How I work In my work, I focus on each client/family with understanding, honesty, empathy, and hope. I am respectful and interactive in my approach. My goal is to create a safe and caring environment free of shame and judgment. A place where you share, heal, and grow while working through your struggles with me. I strongly believe that therapy is a collaborative process where a trained therapist and client work together as a team to move you toward your goals. As I attune to my clients, I pay attention not only to your words but also to your emotional and physical responses as your share your life story with me. I work hard to recognize what negative believes and past experiences stand in the way of you living a more peaceful and meaningful life. The team I work with Over the years, my practice became busier and busier. There were numerous times when my schedule did not permit me to take any more clients. I began to ponder how I can serve more families in Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR area. A group practice of highly trained and experienced therapists was born and the experience for many individuals and families served has been wonderful! I am privileged to work with some amazing and gifted therapists next me! We all specialize in and passionate about slightly different issues and it only compliments our work together. It’s hard to find a good therapist. I would not hesitate to say that I am 100% confident to refer my friends and family to the team I work with at Integrity Counseling! A bit about me outside of my work… I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, traveling, and volunteering at my church. I do not like to pass an opportunity of connecting with my close friends at my favorite coffee shop. Spending time with my husband of 14 years and my three lovely children is an all time favorite.
